The life and times of an anti-social intellectual

I'm about halfway through "Empire Falls" and it is a really good and funny book with lots of irony. It's the last book in Contemporary literature before the holiday - niiice indeed! I have one more book to go in Southern literature as well. Percival Everett's "Erasure" which I've been told is also supposed to be a funny book. It's the final book in Southern lit. Not just before the holiday but overall.
My teacher has started calling me Mr. Michael and is starting conversations with me during the breaks in class. I don't mind that at all, but I fear he's going to ask me to do a presentation about "Erasure". I'm not scared of doing it, I just don't feel like it. Lazy, lazy I guess.
I got the Lion King 2 disc DVD today. It's been a while since I watched the movie so I look forward to it. I've also been watching a bit of wrestling this week. Besides the usual WWE TV I've been watching some Ring of Honor. The promotion continue to put on super shows and is my pick for federation of the year.
I've also realized that I cannot live without my car. The one I have at the moment dies in January and I have to get another car! I don't know how but I'm not going on a bike...no way in hell! But what the f**k - I'll deal with that problem in January. I'm going to cry about it to my grandmother and my mom. I won't have any luck going to my dad with the problem. He'll just tell me I'm lazy and that some exercise would do me some good. I guess that's true but no need to tell him that.
I got a call from my grandmother today (not the one involved in the "I-need-a-new-car"-plan). We talked a bit about how early the sun goes down these days and other exciting issues all covered in the major newspapers. But it actually struck me today - 2004 is right around the corner. Fall and winter is upon us. Pretty soon I'll turn 22, my exams will be over and 2004 is knocking on my door (I'll be too lazy to answer the door but that's another issue). I'm not really depressed about time disappearing before me. It just gets me thinking you know.
Tomorrow is the annual "Ã…rsfest" and as I wrote in another post I'm not going. Usually, classes are cancelled that day because of the preparations. In fact, that was the case with my classes tomorrow in Southern lit. But no no no no! Our teacher has found a room for us on the 1st floor of the University for classes af 10 am (2 hours earlier than our normal Friday classes). We have to discuss the most important story in Faulkner's "Go Down, Moses" so I have to show up and actually I don't mind. My only problem is that I have no idea where classes are held...I know the room number but I have no idea where it is. Anyway, wish me luck! :-)
