Jeg snuppede lige endnu et Ring of Honor show og damn, sikken et show! Nu mangler jeg blot det næste show i rækken("The Conclusion") og ellers har jeg de efterfølgende 3 (takket være CLVideo...cheap plug!).

ROH Main Event Spectacles
Elizabeth, NJ - 1/11/03

Colt Cabana vs. Dan Maff (**1/2) - Early in the match, Colt did a dance routine with Allison Danger. Funny stuff. Maff won this Field of Honor match with the Burning Hammer. Since Block B is tied up, it will be settled with a 3 way between Maff, Cabana and BJ Whitmer. After the match, Jim Cornette (YES!) and Samoa Joe attacked Maff. Corny cut a promo and then turned on Joe and joined the Briscoe Bros. who beat down Joe

Xavier vs. Nigel McGinness vs. John Walters & Tony Mamaluke (***1/4) - Presented as a pure tag team it was just that most of the way. I'm starting to like Walters. Xavier got the pin on Walters to further their feud. Very good match

Matt Stryker vs. Justin Credible (**) - Basic match but not all that good. At least Stryker won. Passable and the "worst" match on the show

Briscoe Bros. vs. Izzy & Dixie (***) - Mostly the Briscoes in control here as they won and became the ROH tag team champs. Damn those belts change hands a lot. Let's hope they've found a secure home with the Briscoe Bros. and Jim Cornette

BJ Whitmer vs. Homicide (***3/4) - A Fighting Spirit match which pretty much meant that the rules of Puroresu went. Homicide is really one of the all around best today as he can do everything. Back and forth match that got very stiff at times. BJ kicked out of a dangerous Cop Killa' but later fell to the Ace Crusher and a hard lariat. Thrilling contest. Thumbs up to both. After the match, Corino attacked Homicide. They meet in ROH's first no-rope barbed wire match on 29/11

Backseat Boyz vs. Teddy Hart & Jack Evans vs. Carnage Crew vs. SAT vs. Hydro & Angeldust [Scramble Cage match] (***1/2) - A new team entered every 2 minutes and the match really got going after all teams were in. The cage had a platform in each corner and they put it to good use as there were some crazy dives. Star of the match has to be Jack Evans. First, Hart gave him a huracanrana from one of the platforms onto a lot of guys. Later, Evans did a 720 moonsault from the top of the cage to the outside. That's a double moonsault...Evans went all the way around twice. Unbelievable!! The Backseat Boyz won (which they needed). This is the match that became infamous as Teddy Hart started doing flips after the match which pissed off everybody in the locker room. That was of course not on the video release here. Anyway, this is a bit hard to rate as it was a spot fest. But what a spot fest indeed! It was smart that they only used the platforms for a couple of insane dives thus not overdoing the gimmick. Must-see just for Evans' incredible performance

Steve Corino vs. Christopher Daniels vs. CM Punk vs. Samoa Joe (***1/2) - The crowd seemed a bit spent after the cage match and Corino's looong introduction didn't help. Overall the match was strong but could've been better. Punk and Corino both pinned Daniels with a Northern lights suplex for a double pin

Bryan Danielson vs. AJ Styles (****1/4) - Great to see the American Dragon back in ROH. He seems to have gotten more of an attitude since we last saw him. This was for the no. 1 contender's trophy. Dragon worked the arm of AJ and later, after a suplex to the outside, AJ worked the knee of Dragon (and I mean WORKED). If the crowd was dead for the previous match they came back to life for this one. A great atmosphere as these two went at it back and forth with AJ getting the win and a title shot on 29/11. Awesome match to end the show

A+
If I could go back and change my pick for Card of 2003, I would change it to this. The "worst" match was ** and the best was ****1/4. In between you got a thrilling, stiff match between Whitmer and Homicide, a must-see spot fest which the crowd was on its feet for and much much more. Get it now!
